Trip to Las Vegas
In November of 2016, I traveled to Las Vegas. I took Air Canada. My first and last name were reversed on the reservation, but I was allowed out of pity to take the flight. I transferred at Vancouver. I arrived in Las Vegas on the same day as my departure from Japan due to the time difference. I was surprised to see many slot machines even at the airport. I saw my hotel from the airport. However, the taxi driver covertly took a roundabout way, so it cost time and money.
I stayed at a hotel called Luxor that was designed with the concept of Egypt in mind. It was shaped like a pyramid with a sphinx. The window of the room was slanted, and the elevators moved in a diagonal direction. There were some things I found strange about this hotel. First, pyramids aren’t in Luxor but in Giza, in the suburbs of Cairo. Second, there was another pyramid inside of the hotel, but it wasn’t shaped like the ones in Egypt but the ones in Central America. This hotel was extremely strange at night, because it emitted a strong beam from the top of the pyramid into space, as if it were communicating with aliens.
I walked around the city. There were many themed hotels with certain concepts such as New York, Paris and Italy. Many hotels had casinos inside. The hotel owned by Donald Trump (who had just turned out to be the next President of the United States) didn’t have any casinos, but the whole building was colored gold, which I thought reflected his character.
It was difficult to go straight along the main street called the Strip. At the intersection, I had to turn in the direction of the hotel, cross the overpass, and then turn again to avoid entering the casino of another hotel. I found a homeless-looking woman on the overpass. She was holding a message that read she was suffering from cancer. I felt sorry for her. However, a moment later I found another homeless-looking man with the same message.
I saw some free shows, one of them being a fountain show. I saw two women clad in a police costume with a club, but they were wearing bikinis. I wanted to take a picture, but I gave up because I didn’t want to be arrested (I knew they were fake). I also saw a volcano show. It was beautiful at first, but the climax seemed like an accidental explosion, as the fire appeared everywhere. I also went to see a robot show, but I got lost in the mall and missed it. An hour later, I came back and saw it, but I didn’t understand the English that the robots were speaking. I went to see the feeding show of flamingos, but the show was cancelled after I had already waited for a long time.
I visited the downtown part of the city, which was a little far from the busiest area. The bus broke down on the way there, so I got off. While I was waiting for another bus, I was looking at a fountain when there was a sudden strong wind and I got wet. The roof of an arcade in the downtown area consisted of a screen that was animated.
The following day, I took a two-day tour to visit some natural sites. I had to get up early, so I set three alarm clocks and went to bed early, but I wasn’t able to sleep at all because of anxiety.
First, we visited the Antelope Canyon, which was formed by flash flooding in the desert. We followed a Navajo guide. We went through a narrow and winding passage, going up and down like an adventure. The view wasn’t really special when I saw it with the naked eye, but it was an amazingly beautiful pink color when I photographed it. I took many pictures, but most of them were out of focus when I saw them later. I found my shoes filled with sand when I came back to the car.
Then we visited the Horseshoe Bend where the Colorado River meandered like a horseshoe. The river’s water was very low, so I had to approach the cliff to see the whole shape. They say some people drop their cellphones, and others even themselves fall. It would be difficult to remain unscathed if one fell.
Next, we visited the Monument Valley. We drove through this area in a car driven by a Navajo guide. We saw a view like you would see in a Western movie. I couldn’t take pictures easily because the road was bumpy. We stopped at a few points. The guide took a picture for me as if I were jumping over the rocks. We stayed near this area and visited the area again to see the sunrise. It was beautiful, but it was freezing.
We visited the Grand Canyon. It was so large that, on the contrary, it seemed only two-dimensional. I walked along a passage to another observatory, but time was soon up and I hurried back. When I returned to the car, westerners were seated inside. A moment later, I noticed that another car was mine.
The tour finished. After I returned to Las Vegas, I went up to the observatory of the Eiffel Tower. I had waited for a long time in line to buy a ticket, because everyone was paying with a credit card, which took more time. While I was fascinated with the magnificent view, other people occupied the position to see the fountain show. I had to wait for the following show time, enduring the coldness.
Early the next morning, I took the plane back to Japan. I arrived in Tokyo the evening of the following day. I had enjoyed my trip to Las Vegas, but I missed one thing － casinos. By a strange coincidence, politicians have decided to introduce casinos in Japan too. Personally, I don’t intend to play in Japanese casinos anyway.

(Continuando dall’ultima volta)
Ho visitato un’agenzia di viaggi ad Atene, che era gestita da giapponesi. Avevo controllato le previsioni del tempo per Meteora la notte precedente e ho deciso di andarci, partecipando a un viaggio organizzato di due giorni. Hanno chiamato un’altra agenzia di viaggi per prenotare il viaggio organizzato a nome mio. È stato come se un ristorante mi servisse un piatto di un altro ristorante, ma per me era comodo perché parlavano giapponese.
Durante il tour, ho visto l’Arco di Adriano e il Tempio di Zeus Olimpico. Poi ho visto due guardie alla tomba del milite ignoto di fronte all’edificio del Parlamento. Marciavano a destra e sinistra ripetutamente. Il loro movimento mi sembrava lento. Possono davvero proteggere la tomba così? Avevo dei dubbi, anche se avevo già visto guardie simili in molti paesi del mondo.
Poi, ho visitato il Giardino Nazionale di Atene, ma ad un certo punto mi sono perso e ho trovato a malapena l’uscita. Ho visitato lo stadio dove si sono tenute le prime Olimpiadi moderne nel 1896. Aveva la forma di un ferro di cavallo, il che era interessante. Ho preso in prestito un’audioguida in giapponese, ma non sono riuscito a capire alcune parti della spiegazione perché era una traduzione letterale.
A cena, ho cenato in un ristorante greco. Ho mangiato un piatto chiamato musaka. La musaka è costituita da strati di melanzane, patate e carne macinata. Personalmente l’ho trovata insipida. Forse se l’avessi mangiata con una bevanda alcolica, mi sarebbe piaciuta. Ho mangiato anche un’insalata greca. C’era formaggio feta sopra le verdure. Questa mi è piaciuta. L’insalata conteneva olive con i noccioli. Io non lo sapevo e li ho masticati, il che è stato orribile.
12 dicembre
Il giorno dopo sono andato all’ Agorà di Atene. È una piazza grande di cui molti edifici erano distrutti, ma è stato interessante immaginarne la forma originale. Poi ho visitato le rovine di Keramikos, da cui deriva la parola ceramica. Non sono riuscito a trovare l’ingresso, perciò ho fatto un giro completo attorno a questa grande zona.
Successivamente, ho visitato il mercato. Avrei voluto fare delle foto, ma non ne ho fatta nessuna perché nessuno le stava facendo e i commercianti sembravano severi. Poi ho preso la metro dalla stazione di Omonia. I distributori automatici di biglietti erano fuori servizio e ho dovuto aspettare in fila. Uno straniero in testa alla fila aveva difficoltà a comprare i biglietti, quindi la fila si allargava e la gente diventava sempre più impaziente. Per di più, giusto prima del mio turno, una donna greca si è inserita di fronte a me.
Nel pomeriggio ho visitato il Museo dell’Acropoli. C’erano le stesse macchine di ispezione dell’aeroporto. L’incaricato mi ha detto che non dovevo rimuovere la borsa e il cellulare dal mio corpo. Ovviamente, l’allarme del metal detector ha suonato, ma sono riuscito ad entrare senza problemi.
Ho cenato con un buon piatto di merluzzo. Poi sono andato a vedere delle rovine illuminate, ma c’era buio e non c’era nessuno, quindi sono tornato indietro. Quella sera hanno acceso le luci dell’albero di Natale in Piazza Syntagma.

Viaje a Egipto
En diciembre de 2009, viajé a Egipto, participando en un viaje organizado. Una guía japonesa nos acompañó desde el aeropuerto de Narita. Cogimos el EgyptAir. Fue un vuelo directo y cómodo, pero tardó 14 horas, lo que fue aburrido. No facturé equipaje, pero tuve que esperar a que otros turistas recibieran sus equipajes después de llegar a Egipto.
Nos unimos a la guía egipcia en el aeropuerto. Llevábamos un auricular radioeléctrico y escuchábamos la explicación de la guía. A veces oíamos la voz jadeando y la tos de la guía a través del auricular, cuando la guía gorda estaba caminando. La guía japonesa no explicó nada especial.
Primero fuimos a Alejandría. En el camino había un atasco y un camión grande había volcado. Vimos la Fortaleza de Qaitbey, la Librería de Alejandría, el museo, etc.
Volvimos al Cairo y volamos a Luxor. Vimos la momia de Tutankamón en el Valle de los Reyes. Me pareció como un hombre ordinario de África. Visitamos el Templo funerario de Hatshepsut. Es conocido por ser el lugar de un ataque terrorista anterior en el que muchos japoneses fueron asesinados. Saboreé la emoción palpitante. También visitamos el Templo funerario de Ramsés III, el Templo de Karnak y el Templo de Luxor.
Quería tiempo libre y me quedé en el centro de Luxor. Después de dar una vuelta solo por la noche, decidí retornar al hotel. Encontré un grupo de carros de caballos, y lo cogí. Después de que me sacaran una foto, los conductores se pasaron mi cámara uno tras otro, gastándome bromas.
Después de pasar por el Templo de Edfu y el Templo de Kom Ombo, fuimos a Asuán. Nos alojamos en un hotel muy lujoso, pero no tuvimos tiempo para disfrutarlo. Me fui a la cama inmediatamente después de la cena. Me levanté a medianoche, y cogí el autobús. Un soldado armado fue con nosotros en nuestro autobús. Los autobuses formaron una cola y avanzaron a alta velocidad hasta Abu Simbel, cerca de la frontera con Sudán. El soldado estaba durmiendo.
Vimos el Templo de Abu Simbel. Es conocido como el primer Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Después retornamos a Asuán. Vimos la Presa de Asuán y el Templo de Isis de File.
Cogimos el tren nocturno que se llamaba Nilo Express, y retornamos al Cairo. Alguien en la habitación vecina se tiró un pedo en alto a medianoche. Entramos a la Gran Pirámide de Guiza. También vimos la Esfinge. Visitamos las pirámides de Saqqara y Dahshur. También visitamos las ruinas de Menfis.
No participé en una excursión adicional por la noche para ahorrar dinero (Soy tacaño). Cenamos en un restaurante japonés del hotel. No estaba gestionado por japoneses y el sabor de los fideos era terrible. El camarero me preguntó con confianza, “Está rico, ¿verdad?” Contesté, “Sí, mucho.” Soy demasiado compasivo.
Visitamos el Museo Egipcio del Cairo. Dimos un paseo por el mercado. Después, la guía se despidió de nosotros, llorando. Terminó el viaje.

印度旅游
2009年9月，我参加五日游去了印度。我们去了三个城市：德里、阿格拉以及斋浦尔。我选择了最便宜的旅游。各个游客自己去德里机场后，跟当地的导游会合了。导游会说日语，但是他的日语有点难听。他常常跟一些年轻的女性游客说话，他的说明也有点可疑的地方，但是他提供了起码的服务。

第二天，我们看了德里市内的一些观光地。首先，我们看了顾特卜塔，是印度最高的宣礼塔。然后，我们看了胡马雍陵，莫卧儿帝国第二代皇帝的陵墓。然后，我们看了圣雄甘地的丧礼举办的地方。最后，我们看了独立门，是献给第一战牺牲的印度人的。
我们的旅游车上了高速公路。虽然是高速公路，但是路上走着很多行人。在我们的路线上，一辆拖拉机从前面反向开了过来。旅游车的司机若无其事地跟他错了过去。大概这样的情况是家常便饭的。一辆汽车旁若无人地从后面开过来，按着喇叭，以惊人的速度赶了过去。突然，在前面一个牛群开始过公路。于是，那辆车停下来，老老实实地等了他们。
晚上我们到了阿格拉，在那儿住了一天。我房间门的锁坏了，所以我让服务员换了房间。可是新的房间没有浴室，所以我又让他换了房间。旅游团的有些游客说，他们洗淋浴的时候没有热水。
第二天，我们看了阿格拉市内的一些观光地。首先，我们看了泰姬陵。说实话，我参加这次旅游团之前，这是关于印度我知道的唯一的地方。这是莫卧帝国第五代皇帝沙贾汗为了他的妻子建造的陵墓。在墓室里一个服务员叫着，”不允许拍照！”。我一个人留在那儿的时候，他让我拍照。然后他向我要了很多的小费。然后，我们看了阿格拉堡，莫卧儿帝国第三代皇帝阿克巴建造的城堡。最后，我们看了法泰赫普尔西克里，阿克巴建造的帝国首都的遗迹。

我们看了斋浦尔市内的一些观光地。首先，我们看了琥珀堡。然后，我们看了斋浦尔城市皇宫。最后，我们看了风之宫。斋浦尔以前是一个王国，现在王族也住在那儿。看样子，这个城市还有独特的文化。
我们到机场后，旅游团解散，这次旅游就结束了。

A dicembre del 2017, ho fatto un viaggio in Grecia. Dopo aver controllato le previsioni del tempo tre giorni prima della mia vacanza, ho deciso di andare lì, dove sarebbe stato sereno. Ho scelto Emirates perché i biglietti erano economici e ci sarebbe stato abbastanza tempo all’aeroporto di Dubai per prendere il secondo volo, anche se il primo fosse stato in ritardo.
10 dicembre
Ho lasciato l’aeroporto di Haneda, Tokyo. C’è stata una turbolenza mentre cenavo, quindi il tè è volato via e la mia tazza si è svuotata. Dopo essere atterrati all’aeroporto di Dubai, abbiamo dovuto aspettare un momento sull’aereo, quindi sono andato in bagno, ma il pavimento era pieno di urina. Durante il volo per Atene, un bambino si divertiva a strillare intenzionalmente, infastidendo gli altri passeggeri. Poi, però, sua madre lo ha sgridato e lui ha cominciato a piangere, il che mi ha infastidito ancora di più.
Ho preso una metro dall’aeroporto al centro di Atene. Il sistema della metro greca è abbastanza moderno: la macchina all’ingresso riconosceva automaticamente il biglietto. Molti mendicanti sono venuti a chiedere soldi. Alcuni zoppicavano e si lamentavano, e un altro stava con un ragazzo che suonava il flauto.
Con la metro sono arrivato a piazza Syntagma, nel centro della città. Avevo prenotato l’albergo molto vicino alla piazza, ma mi sono perso perché il GPS sul mio cellulare non era preciso allora, e io non ho il senso dell’orientamento.
Ho cercato dei ristoranti per mangiare piatti greci, ma non ho avuto il coraggio di entrare e alla fine ho mangiato al McDonald’s. Di sera, ho passeggiato per le strade senza una meta. Poi ho provato a tornare all’albergo, ma ci sono riuscito solo dopo molto tempo. Ho controllato l’indirizzo con il GPS e ho scoperto che era vicino a piazza Omonia. Nella mia guida c’era scritto che questa zona è pericolosa anche durante il giorno. Quindi mi sono venuti i brividi e sono riuscito a malapena a tornare all’albergo. (In realtà, ho visitato di nuovo questa zona in un altro giorno e ho visto che non era poi tanto pericolosa.)
11 dicembre
Il secondo giorno ho fatto colazione nel ristorante del mio albergo. Da lì ho potuto godere della vista panoramica della città con l’Acropoli. Era un buffet, quindi ho riempito il piatto molte volte, aspettando di vedere l’Acropoli illuminata dal sole. Tuttavia, era ancora troppo presto e alla fine non sono riuscito a vederla e ho perso tempo inutilmente.
Successivamente, ho visitato l’Acropoli. Ho comprato un biglietto combinato con il quale ho potuto visitare anche altre rovine. Il biglietto era scarno e sembrava lo scontrino di un negozio, ma aveva un codice a barre e la macchina all’ingresso l’ha riconosciuto. C’era una gru vicino al Partenone, ma mi è piaciuto il contrasto tra vecchio e nuovo. Il movimento della gru mi sembrava lento. Chissà quando finirà il restauro. Avranno intenzione di finirlo, prima o poi?
Ho anche visitato l’Agorà Romana e la Biblioteca di Adriano. Sono stati distrutti, quindi era difficile immaginarne la forma originale. Nella Biblioteca di Adriano, non ho letto la spiegazione e ho confuso le rovine della chiesa con il centro della biblioteca, quindi la parte importante mi è sfuggita.

希腊之旅3
我们旅行团除了导游和司机以外一共有五个人。有两个韩国人(在纽约上大学的学生和她的母亲)以及两个印度系新加坡人(一位住在新加坡，一位住在澳大利亚)。导游是红头发的希腊人，她说英语说得很流利。参加旅游团的游客也都说英语说得很好。我的英语水平还可以，可是跟他们比起来相形见绌。导游的说明比较易懂，可是我有时不懂装懂。司机是年纪又大又沉默寡言的希腊人。他开车开得比较粗暴。他多次接近前边的车，叫它让路。可是他总是能安全地把我们送到各个地方。
我们去了德尔斐，古代希腊的圣地。当时这个地方被看成世界中心。住在这儿的女巫神灵附体，告诉人们神的启示。这些启示影响了很多国家。听了导游的说明之后，有自由时间。我爬到山顶，看了古代运动场。可是下山后剩下的时间不够，没去成博物馆。
我们到了一个城市叫卡拉巴卡，在那儿住了一天。订这个旅游团的时候，我选择了更便宜的酒店。是比较老的。我怎么也打不开我房间门的锁，于是我把服务员叫来。原因竟然是开锁的方法不好。厕所很窄，厕所的门关上也会自动地半开。虽然那样，但床比较大，房间里很暖和，酒店的晚饭也很好吃。吃完饭后，我在这个城市里转了一圈。
12月14号
今天，我们去了迈泰奥拉。在那儿，几个修道院建在奇形怪状的岩石上。我们看了两个修道院。偏偏里面不允许拍照，所以我拼命地记住我看的东西，可是我都忘得一干二净了。
导游要带着我们去拜占庭式绘画的工作室。我猜测，她的目的是让我们买绘画的。参加旅游团的有些人说她们要快点儿回到雅典，所以导游的阴谋没有得逞。我们直接回到了雅典，这个两日旅游就结束了。我回到了在雅典的酒店。
12月15号
今天，我去了物考古学博物馆。我的旅游指南上写着，博物馆八点开馆。可是我等到九点，博物馆才开。我详细地看了开头的部分。到了最重要的部分之后，剩下的时间不够，我不得不走马看花了。
我坐公共汽车回到了机场。在我的旁边坐着一位胖胖的女性，每次汽车拐弯的时候，我都快要被她压死了。我到了机场，坐了飞机。飞机飞到了迪拜机场。在那儿有八个小时的转机时间。由于是深夜，我没去迪拜的中心。
我找了找发餐券的地方，因为前一晚我在网上找到了好信息，写着在迪拜机场里他们发免费餐券。我怎么找也找不到，我询问了阿联酋航空的服务台，他们回答说，那个服务已经结束了。我无可奈何地决定自己买饭，可是我先要兑换。我快要到兑换处的时候，来了两个人。他们手里拿着大量的纸币。我不得不等了很长时间。
我平安无事地回到日本，旅游结束了。

En septiembre de 2009, viajé a India, participando en un viaje organizado. Visitamos tres ciudades como Delhi, Agra y Jaipur. Escogí un viaje muy barato. Cada participante voló al aeropuerto de Delhi por su cuenta, y después se unió al guía. El guía hablaba japonés y nos cuidaba bien, aunque siempre hablaba a algunas mujeres jóvenes.
Nos alojamos en un hotel de Delhi. Un botones me siguió a mi habitación aunque le había rechazado. Él me explicó todo sobre la habitación y después me pidió propina. Me quejé porque había una mancha que parecía sangre en la toalla. El botones trajo otra toalla y me pidió propina otra vez. La bañera estaba sucia. El enchufe estaba roto.
El segundo día, visitamos algunos lugares de Delhi. Primero, visitamos el Qutab Minar. Había un alminar muy alto. Fue construido por Aybak, el primer gobernante musulmán de Delhi. Después visitamos el mausoleo de Humayun, el segundo emperador del Imperio mogol. Después visitamos el Raj Ghat, el lugar del funeral de Mahatma Gandhi. Al final, vimos la puerta de la independencia dedicada a las victimas indas de la Primera Guerra Mundial.
Tomamos la autopista. La autopista en India era interesante. Algunas personas caminaban allí con equipajes grandes. Un tractor vino en dirección prohibida. De repente un grupo de vacas empezó a cruzar la autopista delante, entonces este coche paró y les esperó pacientemente.
Llegamos a Agra por la noche, y nos alojamos en un hotel. La llave de mi habitación estaba rota, por eso pedí un cambio de habitación. Pero la habitación nueva no tenía cuarto de baño, por eso pedí un cambio otra vez. Al día siguiente, algunos miembros de nuestro grupo dijeron que no habían tenido agua caliente.
El tercer día, visitamos algunos lugares de Agra. Primero, visitamos el Taj Mahal. Honestamente este había sido el único lugar que conocía sobre India antes de este viaje. Este mausoleo fue construido por Shah Jahan, el quinto emperador del Imperio mogol, para su esposa. En el cuarto del mausoleo, un empleado gritaba, “No foto”. Cuando me quedé de solo allí, me permitió sacar una foto. Después me pidió mucha propina.
Visitamos el fuerte de Agra, que fue construido por Akbar, el tercer emperador del Imperio mogol. Después de pasar por la tienda del damasquinado, visitamos Fatehpur Sikri, las ruinas de la capital construido por Akbar.
Tomamos la autopista y llegamos a Jaipur por la noche. Nos alojamos en algunos hoteles diferentes. Mi hotel era satisfactorio y la comida estaba rica. Un miembro de nuestro grupo que se alojó en otro hotel sufrió una intoxicación alimenticia y se quedó durmiendo todo el día el día siguiente.
El cuarto día, visitamos algunos lugares de Jaipur. Visitamos el Fuerte Amber, el palacio de Jaipur, y el Hawa Mahal. Volvimos al aeropuerto y terminó el viaje organizado.
